Antonio Galloni scores our 2016 vintage!

2016 Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Chardonnay- 94 Points
“The 2016 Chardonnay Gap’s Crown Vineyard is a deep, powerful wine that also manages to be super-elegant. Citrus peel and floral notes develop in the glass, but it is the wine’s vertical spine of structure and sense of gravitas that differentiate it from the other wines in the range The Gap’s Crown is a wine of contrasts, which is one of the many reasons it is so intriguing.“– Antonio Galloni

2016 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, Chardonnay- 94 Points
“The 2016 Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is very nicely focused and full of energy. Lemon confit, white flowers, chamomile and mint are all beautifully delineated. In this vintage, the S&B has a distinctly phenolic quality that works very nicely with its bright, chiseled personality. All the elements are impeccably balanced. The 2016 is striking. That’s all there is to it.” – Antonio Galloni

2016 Durell Vineyard, Chardonnay- 93 Points
“The 2016 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is the most powerful and overtly rich of the Chardonnays in the Lutum range. Ample and powerful in the glass, with tremendous power, the Durell has a lot to recommend it. Tiny clusters confer richness to the apricot, orange peel and lightly tropical flavors Above all else, the Durrell is a wine of real textural density that at times has more in common with the structural feel of Pinot rather than Chardonnay. “– Antonio Galloni

2016 Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Pinot Noir – 93+ Points
“Deceptive in its first impression, the 2016 Pinot Noir Gap’s Crown Vineyard is a big, structured Pinot that needs time to emerge from a wall of tannin. Lavender, mint, sage, plum and spice notes make an appearance from time to time, but the 2016 remains imposing and not ready to show all of its cards. A Pinot of real substance and power lurks behind all of the acid and tannin. Readers will have to be patient.”– Antonio Galloni

2016 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard, Pinot Noir- 93 Points
“The 2016 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is sublime. Bright red-toned fruit, chalk, blood orange and white pepper grace the 2016 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. Lifted, precise and nuanced, the 2016 has so much to offer. This is an especially translucent, weightless expression of S&B. I especially admire the energy and focus here. “– Antonio Galloni

2016 La Rinconada Vineyard, Pinot Noir- 93 Points
“The 2016 Pinot Noir La Rinconada Vineyard is another gorgeous wine from Lutum and Gavin Chanin. Deep and pliant, yet also wonderfully focused, the 2016 exudes energy, tension and nuance from start to finish. Bright red stone fruit, orange peel, mint and crushed rocks give the 2016 its distinctive translucent feel. Hints of earthiness, game and tobacco add further shades of complexity. Above all else, though, the 2016 is a Pinot built on tension and persistence, with pulsating saline notes that give the wine shape.”
